Chapter Fourteen

The Erus Veneficus is torturing Willow, who is still unable to affect the energy inside the scythe. The gang prepares to attack the school.

We flashback several times to a Bringer taking the remains of the first shadow demon - which was reduced to a small dot of blackness - back to the Seal's chamber. The First bleeds it over the Seal and a massive charge is built up.

They arrive at the school, after Buffy wakes up along the way. The plan is to split up into three groups, each going towards the Seal in different directions (see the Extras section for the group lists). They are surprised and then cautious to find the school completely deserted.

We then flashback once more to the First raising an army of Turok-Han from the Seal, and informing one of the Bringers to rig one of the buses to explode. It asks one of the Turok-Han if it knows what 'kamikaze' means - the bus was intended to explode into Buffy's house, not act as a trap.

Angel and Spike, who had to take the sewers, meet up with Wes's group, and Spike goes off to spread the muscle elsewhere - which everyone recognises as an excuse to go find Buffy now she's awake.

One of the newly activated Slayers reveals she has a radio to communicate between the groups. Spike then catches up with Faith and is revealed to be the First once again - they almost walked out of it's ambush, and it has taken a lot of effort to arrange.

Wes and Buffy's groups converge on Faith's position in order to save them from the hordes of Turok-Han which suddenly appear in the corridors. Buffy hears someone being stabbed through the radio, but we don't know who it is. Wes's group arrives at the infested corridor and prepare to take on the demon hordes.
