Chapter Three
Dawn has the rare privilege of a room to herself for the night, and while Wes calms down over the First's taunts Joyce appears to Dawn, reitirating that she must choose between her own survival and her loyalty to Buffy in the very near future.
Fred, Faith and Willow talk somberly in the living room, and Faith and Willow share a bonding moment when they recount their experiences with the First. Wes seeks Giles' company in finding some reassurance about his reaction to the First. Giles tells him if he can still get angry and act irrationally then he isn't as heartless as he'd like to think he is - and that that's a good thing, as he's still human, and emotions are what humans are all about.
Meanwhile, Andrew traps Gunn in the kitchen after Gunn unintentionally reveals he likes Star Wars. Angel is later similarly trapped and they are given a lecture about Andrew's past evil ways.
Buffy is sleeping in the basement with Spike when the First appears to her...and gives Buffy some unrevealed inspiration when it reitirates that she is ultimately alone in the world.
Given the lack of sleeping space, Angel and Co have to sleep on the kitchen floor, and the end result is that Angel nearly loses his arm to sunlight.
